The Cultural Summer and Castle Festival (2 June - 14 September 2017)

The Summer Shakespeare´s Festival (July, August 2017)- an open-air theatre show of works of this most significant world playwright. It is held in the unique scenery of the Bratislava Castle (only in Slovak)

Coronation Ceremony (23 - 25 June 2017) - Largest cultural event in Slovakia. Bratislava returns back to the time of Renaissance. Experience the crowing of Rudolf II - a Hungarian king in St. Martin´s Dome. Take part in the royal procession, watch the dubbing of the knights of the Golden Stirrup, witness the royal oath and join the grand feast with folk merrymaking.

Brno - City in the Center of Europe (May-June 2017) - Festival of fun under Spilberk and Veveri Castles in Brno. Includes: International fireworks competition IGNIS BRUNENSIS (26 May- 25 June 2017); MUSEUM NIGHT (20 May 2017) presentation of Brno Museums and galleries. CHURCH NIGHT (9 June 2017)

Concentus Moraviae (3-29 June 2017) This international music festival offers the opportunity to travel around the various châteaux and churches of South Moravia and the Highlands listening to music. The programme is subtitled “Shakespeare, Beethoven and the Czech Quartet Tradition”, and includes about thirty concert

Summer at The Old City Hall (June-September 2017) The Old City Hall comes alive with culture in the summer. Its rich and colourful programme consisting of concerts, theatre, a literary programme, (video) art and open-air cinema takes place outdoors in its courtyard

Danube Carnival (June 2017) - The Danube Carnival (Duna Karnevál) is the framework event for the music and dance presentations, held by different settlements alongside the Danube.

Wagner in Budapest Opera Festival (June, 2017)

Budapest Summer Festival (1 Jun - Aug 31, 2017) - One of Europe’s greatest water events to be organized in Budapest, on the 1,5 km section of river Danube between Margaret Bridge and Chain Bridge on these two summer days. Different programs, sports events – rowing, kayak, canoe and motor boat competitions – await spectators during the whole day. Besides these events, hand-driven and motor boat processions are organized both in the morning and in the evening. Burning candles float down on the river and Midsummer Night’s fireworks are presented in the closing event.

Danube day (June, 2017) - the Danube Day is an annual international event celebrated in 14 countries that are connected through the Danube river system

Vajdahunyadvár Summer Festival (2 July - Aug 3, 2017) - a festival of classical music, swing, klezmer as well as traditional Hungarian gypsy music

International festival of choirs and orchestras in Budapest (28 June - 2 July, 2017)

Island Festival - multicultural youth festival (Sziget Festival) (9-16 August 2017) - Thousands of young people move out to a deserted shipyard island (Hajógyári sziget) in tents for a week to participate in a giant pop festival better known as Pepsi Island. Pepsi Island has since grown into the largest concert festival in Central Europe.

Festival of Folk Arts (18-21 Aug , 2017)- the festival (Mesterségek Ünnepe) brings the finest Hungarian craftsmen and their work to Buda Castle from across the country.

The Jewish Summer Festival (September 2017) is a celebration of Hungarian and indeed Central European Jewish Culture. Events range from exhibitions to music concerts and theatre performances.

Foundation of the State and Constitution Day (20 August 2017) As part of the celebrations a large-scale fireworks display is held in Budapest. All are welcome to join the crafts fair and concerts held along the Pest side of the Danube Embankment in the days before and after the festivities.

Cesky Krumlov

The Festival of the Five-petalled Rose (16-18 June 2017) - Historical Renaissancefestival with parades of people in medieval clothes as well as music concerts.

Festival of Chamber music (23 June- 2 July 2017) - Festival of the classical music with the longest tradition in Cesky Krumlov. Part of the festival comprises of ‘Music through the Ages’ where music can be hard on the tour route of Cesky Krumlov Castle

The International Music Festival (14 July– 5 August 2017) - Largest of Cesky Krumlov´s festivals. It has been going since 1992 and includes music of all periods with the participation of renowned instrumentalists, singers, chamber ensembles, choirs and symphony orchestras.

Celebrations of St.Wenceslas (28 September - 1 October 2017) - Autumn fair, celebration of good food and drink, theatre pieces, and concerts for St.Wenceslas Day (Patron Saint of the Czech Lands).


Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival (1 - 14 April 2017) - Dozens of famous performers and ensembles play the music of this great composer as well as other famous composers of the time.

Krakow International Film Festival (28 May -4 June 2017)

City of Krakow Festival incorporating many smaller festivals is a huge musical, theatrical, exhibition, historical event that takes place throughout Krakow and the surrounding area.

Jewish Culture Festival (24 June - 2 July, 2017)The Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow is one of the most important and largest events of its kind in the world. The First Festival took place in 1988 and its program focused on a scholarly conference on the encounter betweentwo cultures, Jewish and Polish. It was a modest occasion but it turned out to have enormous significance, considering the boldness of the subject matter, upon which the communist authorities of the day looked askance.

Karl-May-Festtage Radebeul (26 - 28 May 2017) - Historical camps, shows, stunts and action, folkmusic and bluegrass.

International Dixieland Festival (May 14-21, 2017) - Over 65 venues with more than 28 bands and solo performers from 11 countries. Dresden sings and swings like crazy.

Elbhangfest (23 - 25 June 2017)

Moritzburg Festival (August 5 - 20, 2017) - One of the world's most prestigious chamber music festivals. The festival takes place in Moritzburg Castle near Dresden every August. During two weeks soloists from all over the world concentrate on works of chamber music and perform them in concerts at the end.

Dresden Music Festival (18 May -18 June 2017) - Classical music/ ballet Germany's biggest classical music festival. Concerts feature international stars and Dresden's top ensembles inthe city's most exquisite palaces, theatres, fine rooms and churches.

The famous, annual festival, Slaying the Dragon (4 - 20 August, 2017) is a representation of a traditional 1000-year-old local legend consisting of a Dragon show and a parade of 1400 people in traditional costume with 200 horses.

Hradec Kralove

Folklore Festival Pardubice-Hradec Kralove (June,2017) - The largest Czech folklore festival, which, according to tradition, takes place in both these East-Bohemian centers at the beginning of June. The best Czech folklore ensembles and foreign artists come to perform. The program is composed of a variety of presentations of different folklore dances, from the authentic folklore dancing, typical festival performances, to musical, dramatized and entertaining forms.
